A message from Swansea’s Exist skate store’s shredder “Rick”
flippin massive….and then the mist rolled in.
Later on that same day it cleared up, feeling a bit gnarly,
i decided to pop up and have a dip at Wallenberg…..
After i’d given it a good lookin over and a whole bunch of head scratching
Kate Leonard said,
“Well you’re here now, may as well give it a go?”
I gave her a stern look…..
and then gave it a bash…. this was as close as i got to make,
if you look close enough i think you can see me brickin’ it about there.
no make, had to settle for a ropey tailslide on the bottom curb,
before being whisked off to pier 39 to look at sea lions.
Aww, lovely.

As you can see the site has had a bit of a revamp. It’s an on going thing and is growing nicely. Since the start of the website about 2 months ago we’ve had almost a 1000 unique visitors which is pretty cool. I’ve put up some of my photos in the gallery and have a couple of people getting some ready as we speak, so keep an eye on the galley and if you have any photos you want to contribute please feel free to send them over to me (richardpwalton@me.com) and I’ll get them up.
We’ve had some cool Shred art from some of our local skate creatives like Rob Jenkins, Phil Hackett and Deemo. Same deal as the photos get your art over to me for the art galley.
Also the spots and skate park directory needs to get started so if you’ve got a camera next time your out skating it would be cool if you could take a couple of photos and send them in.
I’ve added a poll to the side as a kinda of test, but we’ll be having some in the near future with a bit more point to them.

Horror Skateboards
Hello Shred Wales,
I didn’t go out last night (it’s a Sunday morn as I write this) and I feel bright and chirpy as a result, I’m also quite bored now I’ve been awake for too long (everyone else went to Manny Mania and the Kill City premiere in Bridgened, so I assume they have hangovers which have the awesome side effect of keeping you on your toes with headaches, puking and random violent thoughts so that boredom doesn’t set in).
I’ve spent a load of this morning watching videos by these guys from Horror Skateboards http://www.youtube.com/user/horrorskateboards. They’re quite pro-active when it comes to you tubing which makes me jealous! I wish I skated as much as I think these guys do. Anyway it all looks like fun and hopefully in time they get their video done and have a premiere in Swansea that I won’t go to. Check out some of their videos and see.
I’m inspired, I might try and hook up with some radical dudes get something filmed today……….but I haven’t got any friends and my rollerblades have chewing gum stuck in the wheels, so I think I’ll just stay in.

(Ex Welsh Pat) Rob Jenkins sending his art across the interweb.
For those who don’t know Rob Jenkins he is an artist/skateboarder from Abergavenny, he now lives in Perth, Australia with our good friends Lee Jenkins and wife Shannon. Rob and Lee are the founders of a Welsh based skate crew called The EJ Riders, but that is a story for another day. So Rob’s art is awesome, I have it tattooed on me and it graces my walls of my home and shop. Looks like he is now dabbling with animation, I miss you Rob, Lee and Shannon.
It’s Over, Pulley is the hardest man in the Zoo, wooping me at arm wrestling.
But we are still friends

Brutality Will Prevail Recording a split with Hang The Bastard.
Brutality Will Prevail, Welsh hardcore at it’s best, I heard Ajay putting the vocals on one of the tracks last night after doing a ghetto recording of my new band Manbearpig, it sounded heavy/catchy as hell, bit of a different sound as far as I can tell from the one song I have heard, Smallsey is doing good work in his studio, Terra Firma. If you want a professional sound he is your man.
I am looking forward to hanging out with these guys again, Hang The Bastard are not Welsh but they are cool enough to be.
I am putting on this “Edge The Movie!”
I am fortunate enough to be putting this on, it is a well made independent film about straight edge and it’s place in the hardcore scene. I hope to ram Le Pub, also my new band Manbearpig are playing.
