The powers that be have decided to give me a Log in to allow me to put some useless nonsense up, No doubt they will regret this decision soon enough.

Any way, I thought I would have my first post be some pages from the first issue of the mag. I decided the Shed is the best place to start. Who (honestly) doesn’t like seeing pictures of any DIY mini in the back of some one’s garden? I shall let the pictures illustrate how rad home made ramps are.

Great news shredders!

Well, the geniuses at Newport City Council appear to be considering demolishing the three year old concrete skate park that currently lives at the Newport International Sports Village. Apparently the Council have struck up a deal with some football gits to house a new state of the art welsh football training academy right where the skate park is, so they’ll be demolishing it to make way for more facilities for ‘proper’ sports. Thanks to the Council for that.

In order to try and avoid being the only town/city in South Wales without some form of outdoor, free to use skate park an online petition has been set up with the support of Freestyle Skate Store here click here for the petition . The idea is to try and secure a new (hopefully better) concrete skate park in Newport before the existing park is destroyed. Who knows if a new park gets built it might be the best skate park ever!!!!!! So please sign up if you’ve ever used the park, you support ‘alternative’ sports, you support Freestyle Skate Store or you just want a new concrete skate park in South Wales.

As it’s Sunday morning I realise that I’ve missed the Exist Skate Park opening jam/gig/mega love in/social get together/skateboard orgy. I’ve also missed the chance to tell all of you Welsh shredders anything about it. MASSIVE BALLS. I hope it all went down well and loads of people turned up in support!

FEAR NOT!!!! Grim from Freestyle and Simon, the work experience dude, have organised a competition to be held at Caldicot skatepark (next to Caldicot leisure centre) TODAY!!!!!! For your information today is Sunday 24th July 2011. Check the poster! Get down there to try and win the coveted ‘MOSHER OF THE YEAR’ award (Grim literally spent some minutes of his time gluing the trophy together, check his blog for a sneeky look).

Expect events including several competitions (please someone take Tom Bailey’s title as best under 14s unsponsored skateboarder off him, he’s nearly 21 and sponsored by Old El Paso foods and Desperados beer), expect a one man demo from Freestyle’s very own idiot foot savant Nikki Chappell and a load more besides!

Hopefully I’ll see you there (although probably not as I’m out of action today………..bummer)
